Northern Rivers Under 16 Male Pathway Squad

Following nominations from Associations, a squad of approx 30 is selected to participate in a coaching program through the months of September-November, which includes net and centre wicket sessions as well as trial games.  From this program, a final squad of 13 is selected to represent the Region at the Dowling Shield in January.

COMMUNICATION FOR SQUAD MEMBERS
24th Sept
Thank you to all the members who turned up to the first training session held in Shepparton yesterday. There were still a few members missing and they are strongly urged to get to the next training session in order to put themselves up for consideration for the final squad. If you can not make it please contact Travis Colley otherwise you will be not considered.
Please note the change in venue for the 2nd session for the holidays in Bendigo. The session will be held at Ewing Park (Harcourt St). If you require directions contact Travis Colley.

25th Sept
The Bendigo session ran quite well I thought, hope you all got a fair bit out of it and may have picked up on some aspects that you can work on for future sessions.
The next session is on 5th October @ Mooroopna starting at 10:30am. Grumpy and Brad have set the tone early regarding starting time. I hope you noticed that they will be starting bang on time and if you do not contact myself to let me know you will be late this may go against you. They will also be always aiming to have you leaving by the finishing time, not walking off the field at this time.
I will be putting the sheet that I read from today on here over the next week or so, this will allow you to keep in the back of your mind the factors that will form the core of selection for the final 13.
Until next time remeber what was said today, for the final squad we will be looking for a fit squad to last out 5 days of intense cricket, I suggest everyone starts getting into the fitness side of things. This will not only add to selection but will also improve your cricket in all grades. Simple things like putting the pads on and running a fifty (1's,2's,3's etc) will all help in achieving the end goal.

2nd October
The next session for the U16's is on Sunday 5th October (this Sunday) at Mooroopna (Recreation Reserve) starting at 10:30am sharp and finished by 3:30pm. You will be required to bring spikes, runners, lunch, drink etc. Try to make sure that to every session you pack your bag with what you MAY need, not with just what you think you will definately need.
For any queries contact Travis Colley on 0408 562 704

4th October
If you are in doubt due to the weather please contact Brendan Kenna on 5823 1165 or Brad Muellar on 0411 063 531.

16th October
The next session will be 9th October at Mooroopna from 10:30-2:30. A net session and also a extensive fielding session are planned. After seeing what is planned I would be recommending that you are feeling fit for the session, so look after yourself on the weekend with water and eating properly.
Be sure to bring runners, spikes, lunch, and plenty of fluids to consume throughout the day. It is now starting to get to the serious end of the program so attendance is a must unless a good excuse and any non-explained absences will not be excused.
If you are in doubt due to the weather please contact Brendan Kenna on 5823 1165 or Brad Muellar on 0411 063 531.

20th October
After a solid session yesterday at Mooroopna we are still yet to set a final date for the intra-squad game before the final teams are selected for the practise games before playing in the Dowling Shield.
The teams for the intra-squad match are as follows:
Team 1
Adam Bovell, William Tonkin, Cody Irvine (c), Brayden Hocking, Josh McDonald (wk), Joel Bish, Tom Millar, Sam O'Brien, Joe Dwyer, Liam Ringin, Jake Wright

Team 2
Damian Wust, Brayden Grenfell (wk), Adam Ward (c), Jesse Clarke, Hamish Winter-Irving, Jake Thurston, Michael Moroney, Daniel Price, James Martin, Jaran McKay, Jack Keogh

The date and venue will be put on this section of the website asap. Keep an eye out for that and also remember what Grumpy and Brad said on Sunday. You have now said in front of the group what you are going to do to improve your fitness and cricket, dont let the team down by not doing this.

21st October
The intra squad game is scheduled to most likely be on the 9th November and will probably be in Stanhope. Please keep an eye on this page to ensure you keep up to date with the information. It is not confirmed but this is most likely going to occur.
It will be confirmed by the end of the week.

27th October
The intra-squad game is definately to be held at Stanhope Recreation Reserve starting at 10:00am. You are required to bring your own lunch and make sure you have plenty to drink for the day. We will be playing on turf so ensure your spikes are in your kit also.
From this game, the final 13 will be picked. This 13 will be the team to represent the Northern Rivers in the Dowling Shield to be held during January.
You must attend this training to be selected in the team (unless a suitable excuse). If you see anyone from the squad between now and the game, please advise them of these details and make sure they attend the game.

8th November
Please note that Stanhope ground is out of play. We are currently sourcing another ground and this will be advised on the internet asap. Please call later in the day to find out where the game will be played. My mobile from tonight will have a voice recording on the message bank to advise of where the game will be played if at all. Either this or you can text message me to find out status.

15th November
The trial game will be played on the 23rd November and it is hoped that this will be held at the Stanhope ground as orginally organised. As soon as this is confirmed I will place the relevant information on this page. Please keep an eye of this page to make sure that you get all the up-dated info.

19th November
The intra squad game is to be held at Stanhope Recreation Reserve starting at 10:00am. All details are exactly the same as what was originally planned with only the date changing.
If you are in doubt of the day going ahead due to weather please contact myself.
From this day the squad will be selected that afternoon and teams will be put onto the internet on the Monday following. The selected squad will represent the region in the Lightfoot-Sherwill Shield on Sunday 30th Nov at Benalla. Details of this day will be placed on the website with the selected teams. For any queries please contact Travis on 0408 562 704.

21st November
With the weather the way it is, there is a chance that the Stanhope pitch wont get up for Sunday. There is also a fair bit of weather around the region therefore to find a pitch if Stanhope cant get up may prove difficult. If you have any doubts about the weather please contact Grumpy, Brad or myself on Saturday to find out what is going to occur, our contact details are in previous entries on the page. If contacting myself you can either text message or ring my mobile. I will endevour to get back to asap.
Neither myself or the coaches will take responsibility to for turning up and the game is not going ahead. It is up to you guys to ring and find out. It has been made clear that you are to check the website to get all the up-dated information.
Hopefully we can get the game up and running and I look forward to watching you all fighting for the positions in the squad.
